Home Insurance
There are two types of home insurance policies you take out if you own your own home:
- Building insurance
- Contents insurance
Together, these insurance policies ensure that both the home itself and everything in it are properly insured in case of damage and theft.
Building insurance
Property insurance covers damage to everything attached to your home: think roof, walls, pipes, floors, kitchen and bathroom. You are financially protected with buildings insurance in case of fire, storm or water damage.
Do you have an owner-occupied home with a mortgage? If so, this insurance is usually mandatory. Do you have an apartment? Then this insurance is usually taken out for the entire building and you pay the premium through your contribution to the Owners’ Association (VvE).
Contents insurance
Contents insurance deals with the loose items in your home: furniture, clothing, electronics, art, jewelry – in short, anything you might take with you when you move.
This insurance provides coverage for damage caused by fire, burglary, leakage or storm, among others. You can also include accidental damage (for example, knocking something over) in your insurance through all-risk coverage.
Well taken care of, without worries
Together, building and contents insurance make up a complete home insurance policy. At Van den Boer & Roggen, we look at your personal situation: do you live in an apartment or detached house? Do you have solar panels or valuable contents? We are happy to advise you on appropriate coverage and make sure everything is taken care of.
